Arc de Triomphe

The Arc de Triomphe de L'Etoile is a magnificent monument located in Place de L'Etoile (metro Charles de Gaulle Etoile, line 1), at the top of the Champs Elysées. It was commissioned in 1806, finally completed in 1836.

You get a great view from the top of L'Arc de Triomphe, if you can climb the 284 stairs to get there!

Take a look at our gallery to see some great photos taken of and from L'Arc de Triomphe. You can also see our magnificent Gigapixel Photo.

Belleville

Home to a lot of the North African community in Paris, especially unison and Algerian; you get to try a lot of really great food in Belleville. As there is also a small China Town in Belleville, you also get to eat some great Asian food too.

Take a look at our Gallery of Belleville to see some great photos of the area, including some photos of Rue Dénoyez, the home of the Paris graffiti scene, or at least where it is legal to do it:)

We also have a pretty cool 360° interactive photo of the main graffiti wall.

BHV Homme

A pretty cool store in the centre of Le Marais; BHV Homme is a fashion store just for men, though we believe, women, provided they are escorted by a man, are allowed to enter:)

The store, like most Paris fashion stores, is way overpriced, but that ok as the most interesting part is actually outside the store. A creation by Patrick Blanc, the Vertical Garden outside BHV Homme is pretty awesome. Go take a look at our photo of the Vertical Garden outside BHV Homme.

Catacombs

The former stone mines of Paris is the final resting place to the skeletal remains of around 6 million people. Opened due to the over-use of the Paris cemeteries (understatement), it was used mainly as a repository for the remains taken from cemeteries across Paris. It was not until around 1810, Lous-Etienne Héricart de Thury oversaw the renovations turning the former stone mines into a sepulture. It slowly started to be turned into a tourist attraction, with regular visits starting from around 1867.

We have a great photo gallery for you to enjoy. It is definitely worth seeing in person though, no photos do it justice.

Centre Georges Pompidou

We think that Centre Georges Pompidou, also know as Beaubourg by the locals, is a stunning example of high-tech architecture and looks just great in the centre of the old Marais district in Paris.

We have a photo gallery of Beaubourg plus a gigapixel photo for you to look at. You can also by a special Black and White print in our Buy Prints section which we are sure you are going to love.

If you climb to the top of Beaubourg you get a pretty good view of Paris plus there is an ok restaurant there if you are hungry. The setting is better than the food, in our opinion of course.

Eiffel Tower

Visiting the Eiffel Tower if you holiday in Paris is a definite must-do-activity. The view you get from the top of the Eiffel Tower is pretty awesome on a nice clear day.

We have a photo gallery of the Eiffel Tower from ground level for you to take a look at, plus we have an awesome gigapixel photo of the Eiffel Tower that allows you to zoom in to see the individual people on the tower. Can you spot the kissing couple?

Check back soon for some more photos, as we plan to add some of the view from the top of the Eiffel Tower.

L'Hôtel de Ville

We love that there is usually some kind of activity going on outside L'Hôtel de Ville, the town hall of Paris. The building is also really cool looking, worth a visit just to see it.

We have been lucky to find L'Hôtel de Ville clear of any activity a few times, allowing us to photograph it from lots of different angles, plus create a couple of 360° interactive photos and an awesome gigapixel photo for your viewing pleasure.

Go take a look at our gallery of L'Hôtel de Ville, 360° interactive photos by day and night and the gigapixel photo. Enough to keep you busy for at least 17 seconds!

Le Pantheon

Le Pantheon is an impressive building. It is worth viewing from afar, like in the photo to the right, plus up close, where it looks rather different, no longer dominated by the impressive dome. Go take a look at our photo gallery of Le Pantheon to see more.

You can also buy a special print series of Le Pantheon, '2 minutes 40 seconds' in our Buy Prints section. The flow of life around Paris whilst Le Pantheon quietly goes about protecting its memorable dead, is what we have tried to capture in this series of photos. These were taken from the 4th arrondissement, across the river from where Le Pantheon sits in the 5th arrondissement.

Les Champs Elyseés

Les Champs Elyseés, the most beautiful avenue in the world, according to the French. Judge for yourself if you think that is true in our photo gallery of Les Champs Elyseés. We also have a great 360° photo of Concorde all the way down at the bottom. You may find that a certain something would look better in North Africa though, but the French seem to think that it should stay where it is.

Madeleine

There were two false starts to building Madeleine, though the pillars from the second are still in place today. Construction first started in 1763, with construction soon halted in 1764. It wasn't until 1842 that Madeleine was finally consecrated as a church, after some consideration was given to using it as a train station. Go take a look at our Gigapixel Photo of Madeleine to to see how nice it looks from the outside.

Opéra

It may no longer be the home of the Paris Opera 8that is in Bastille now), but it certainly is an impressive building.

We photographed L'Opéra in very high resolution to bring you a fabulous gigapixel photo where you can zoom in to see all the wonderful details.

We have also taken a great 360° photo, so you get a feel for the place. There are some great cafés and bars, so worth a visit. Not too far from Place Vendome either, if you fancy spending a small mortgage on a luxury handbag (the new Louis Vuitton

Place des Vosges

If you pay a visit to Le Marais, in the old 4th district of Paris, you should definitely go check out Place des Vosges. This great square, in the heart of Le Marais.

Place des Vosges was so named after the French revolution when the region of Vosges in the north east of France was the first to pay taxes to the new French government. They renamed the square in their honor. Considered by some to be the most beautiful square in Paris, this place is a definite must visit if you are around the Marais.

We have taken a great 360° photo and have a nice photo gallery for you to see.

Sacré Coeur

A photo gallery of Le Sacré Coeur and surrounding area plus a great interactive 360° virtual climb from the bottom of La Butte de Montmartre all the way to the steps of Le Sacré Coeur.

The view from the top is pretty amazing, as this is also one of the highest places in Paris. Go take a look at our photo gallery Le Sacré Coeur and 360° climb of Butte Montmartre?

Saint-Germain-des-Prés

Famous for the cafés that hosted the many French philosophers, like Sartre, Saint-Germain-des-Prés is another of those Paris must-see places to visit.

We have a nice photo gallery of Saint-Germain-des-Prés and surrounding area plus a couple of 360° photo taken outside and inside of the Saint-Germain-des-Prés Abbey.

You may want to skip all the culture though and just head to the shops instead!
