Paris has a magnificent town hall, L'Hôtel de Ville (Metro line 1 and accessible via the Batobus, Paris 4th). L'Hôtel de Ville houses the city of Paris's administration. Traditionally the mayor of Paris also resides there, though the current mayor, Bertrand Delanoë, decided to use the space for a creche instead. Bertrand Delanoë is a pretty popular mayor, responsible,amongst other things for the Velibs and the Paris Plage, both of which are very popular with Parisians and tourists alike.
This place looks pretty stunning at night too, especially around Christmas as they switch on the lights!
